When is the campsite open?
We are open from from the first Bank Holiday in May until the first week of September. To book your stay, please go to the bookings page.

Is the campsite child friendly/safe?
Yes, as long as common sense is used. Please be aware that the campsite is positioned near a series of lakes. There is plenty of open space on the campsite for children to play safely under the supervision of responsible parents. Your children are your responsibility, not ours, so please keep an eye on them.

What is your policy on noise?
Out of respect for all our guests, we do not allow loud noise, amplified music or noisy types at any time. We have a strict ‘no noise after 11pm’ policy.  If you want to stay up late partying then this is not the right campsite for you.

Can we use the boats for free?
Yes, but we won't object if you want to make a donation to the RNLI (a donation box can be found at Reception). We ask that life jackets be used and your children supervised at all times.

Why do you ask for tent sizes?
We need to ensure you can fit on a pitch as they vary in size and some cannot take larger tents. There is no extra cost for a larger tent.

Can I stay for a single night?
We have a two night minimum policy except for bank holidays when it is three nights. We sometimes have spaces for a single night but you need call the office the evening before or on the day itself to find out.

Can I bring an extra car?
We would prefer that you didn't. We are a compact site and have no overflow parking. Only one motor vehicle is allowed per pitch, which must fit safely alongside your tent. If it doesn't you will be charged an extra daily rate.

Can I book more than one pitch?
Yes, each pitch can be booked separately using our online website booking form.

Can I make a group booking?
We accept small groups of up to 4 units. Larger groups would only be by prior arrangement. We do not take big group celebrations, Stag or Hen parties.

Can I have a camp fire?
Camp fires are not allowed on the site. This is due to our insurance policy. However, it is possible hire a Kadai fire bowl and purchase kiln dried wood (as approved by our insurers) from Reception, subject to availability. The use of guests' own fire bowls is not allowed.

I am going to be working nearby for a while. Can I book a pitch?
No. We are a holiday destination and our guests do not wish to be woken early by people heading off to work. There are plenty of B&B's in the area.

When is payment due?
Payment in full is due at the time of booking. Our cancellation and refund policy can be found in our Terms & Conditions.

What time can we check-in and what time do we need to check-out?
Check-in is after 2pm and up to 30 minutes before dusk unless by prior arrangement. This is to enable you to pitch safely before it gets dark. You will not be able to check-in or pitch your tent before 2pm. Please check-out by 11am. You can request a later departure for an extra charge subject to availability. Extra charges will be incurred for late departures that are not pre-agreed.

Our booking at Batcombe Vale is within the next 14 days but the weather looks terrible can we move the dates?
Unfortunately moving your booking now would be classed as a cancellation with no refund given. We regret that the weather is not within our control and we cannot refund any money due to adverse weather conditions.

How do I find out about things to do and local events taking place during my stay?
